These balls are not designed for league competition play or extremely abrasive surfaces like gravel pathways as the balls will of course scratch. This 6 ball set is for 2 players and is perfect for practice, the beginner or as a starter set for those looking to take up the sport.NOTE: If you have played petanque with competition balls or are French and expect these to be as resilient as competition balls they are NOT. Competition balls start at approx 0 and can go up to more than 00 for a set of 3 ONLY and that does not include a case. These balls are great for someone to practice with or the occasional player that does not want the expense of a true competition set. At less than 5 for 3 balls compared to 0 they are a great deal.
